A hinge is a mechanical device used to connect two solid objects while allowing for relative rotation between them. Hinges may be constructed from movable components or from flexible materials. Hinges are most commonly installed on cabinetry; classified by material, they primarily fall into two categories: stainless steel hinges and iron hinges. To enhance user experience, hydraulic hinges (also known as damping hinges) have been developed; these are characterized by a buffering function that activates when the cabinet door closes, thereby minimizing the noise generated by the door impacting the cabinet body.
